2 Corinthians 2:1

ASV: But I determined this for myself, that I would not come again to you with sorrow.

DARBY: But I have judged this with myself, not to come back to you in grief.

DRA: But I determined this with myself, not to come to you again in sorrow.

KJV: But I determined this with myself, that I would not come again to you in heaviness.

2 Corinthians 2:2

ASV: For if I make you sorry, who then is he that maketh me glad but he that is made sorry by me?

DARBY: For if *I* grieve you, who also [is] it that gladdens me, if not he that is grieved through me?

DRA: For if I make you sorrowful, who is he then that can make me glad, but the same who is made sorrowful by me?

2 Corinthians 2:4

ASV: For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be made sorry, but that ye might know the love that I have more abundantly unto you.

DARBY: For out of much tribulation and distress of heart I wrote to you, with many tears; not that ye may be grieved, but that ye may know the love which I have very abundantly towards you.

ASV: But if any hath caused sorrow, he hath caused sorrow, not to me, but in part (that I press not too heavily) to you all.

DRA: And if any one have caused grief, he hath not grieved me; but in part, that I may not burden you all.

2 Corinthians 2:6

ASV: Sufficient to such a one is this punishment which was [inflicted] by the many;

ASV: so that contrariwise ye should rather forgive him and comfort him, lest by any means such a one should be swallowed up with his overmuch sorrow.

DARBY: so that on the contrary ye should rather shew grace and encourage, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with excessive grief.

2 Corinthians 2:11

ASV: that no advantage may be gained over us by Satan: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

DARBY: that we might not have Satan get an advantage against us, for we are not ignorant of *his* thoughts.

DRA: That we be not overreached by Satan. For we are not ignorant of his devices.

ASV: For we are a sweet savor of Christ unto God, in them that are saved, and in them that perish;

ASV: to the one a savor from death unto death; to the other a savor from life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

2 Corinthians 2:17

ASV: For we are not as the many, corrupting the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God, speak we in Christ.

DARBY: For we do not, as the many, make a trade of the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as of God, before God, we speak in Christ.

DRA: For we are not as many, adulterating the word of God; but with sincerity, but as from God, before God, in Christ we speak.
