Galatians 4:4
AMP: But when [in God’s plan] the proper time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the [regulations of the] Law,
ASV: but when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
BSB: But when the time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
DARBY: but when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, come of woman, come under law,
DRA: But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent his Son, made of a woman, made under the law:

Galatians 4:5
AMP: so that He might redeem and liberate those who were under the Law, that we [who believe] might be adopted as sons [as God’s children with all rights as fully grown members of a family]. [Rom 11:17-24]

Galatians 4:7
AMP: Therefore you are no longer a slave (bond-servant), but a son; and if a son, then also an heir through [the gracious act of] God [through Christ].
ASV: So that thou art no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.

ASV: Howbeit at that time, not knowing God, ye were in bondage to them that by nature are no gods:
BSB: Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods.
DARBY: But then indeed, not knowing God, ye were in bondage to those who by nature are not gods;
DRA: But then indeed, not knowing God, you served them, who, by nature, are not gods.
KJV: Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
Galatians 4:9
AMP: Now, however, since you have come to know [the true] God [through personal experience], or rather to be known by God, how is it that you are turning back again to the weak and worthless elemental principles [of religions and philosophies], to which you want to be enslaved all over again?
ASV: but now that ye have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how turn ye back again to the weak and beggarly rudiments, whereunto ye desire to be in bondage over again?
BSB: But now that you know God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you are turning back to those weak and worthless principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again?
DARBY: but now, knowing God, but rather being known by God, how do ye turn again to the weak and beggarly principles to which ye desire to be again anew in bondage?
DRA: But now, after that you have known God, or rather are known by God: how turn you again to the weak and needy elements, which you desire to serve again?
KJV: But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

BSB: You know that it was because of an illness that I first preached the gospel to you.
DARBY: But ye know that in weakness of the flesh I announced the glad tidings to you at the first;
DRA: And you know, how through infirmity of the flesh, I preached the gospel to you heretofore: and your temptation in my flesh,
KJV: Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.
Galatians 4:14
AMP: and even though my physical condition was a trial to you, you did not regard it with contempt, or scorn and reject me; but you received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus Himself.
ASV: and that which was a temptation to you in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but ye received me as an angel of God, [even] as Christ Jesus.
BSB: And although my illness was a trial to you, you did not despise or reject me. Instead, you welcomed me as if I were an angel of God, as if I were Christ Jesus Himself.
DARBY: and my temptation, which [was] in my flesh, ye did not slight nor reject with contempt; but ye received me as an angel of God, as Christ Jesus.
DRA: You despised not, nor rejected: but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.
KJV: And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.
Galatians 4:15
AMP: What then has become of that sense of blessing and the joy that you once had [from your salvation and your relationship with Christ]? For I testify of you that, if possible, you would have torn out your own eyes and given them to me [to replace mine].
ASV: Where then is that gratulation of yourselves? for I bear you witness, that, if possible, ye would have plucked out your eyes and given them to me.
BSB: What then has become of your blessing? For I can testify that, if it were possible, you would have torn out your eyes and given them to me.
DARBY: What then [was] your blessedness? for I bear you witness that, if possible, plucking out your own eyes ye would have given [them] to me.
DRA: Where is then your blessedness? For I bear you witness, that, if it could be done, you would have plucked out your own eyes, and would have given them to me.

ASV: So then am I become your enemy, by telling you the truth?
BSB: Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth?
DARBY: So I have become your enemy in speaking the truth to you?
DRA: Am I then become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
KJV: Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
Galatians 4:17
AMP: These men [the Judaizers] eagerly seek you [to entrap you with honeyed words and attention, to win you over to their philosophy], not honorably [for their purpose is not honorable or worthy of consideration]. They want to isolate you [from us who oppose them] so that you will seek them.
ASV: They zealously seek you in no good way; nay, they desire to shut you out, that ye may seek them.
BSB: Those people are zealous for you, but not in a good way. Instead, they want to isolate you from us, so that you may be zealous for them.
DARBY: They are not rightly zealous after you, but desire to shut you out [from us], that ye may be zealous after them.

ASV: But it is good to be zealously sought in a good matter at all times, and not only when I am present with you.
BSB: Nevertheless, it is good to be zealous if it serves a noble purpose — at any time, and not only when I am with you.
DARBY: But [it is] right to be zealous at all times in what is right, and not only when I am present with you
DRA: But be zealous for that which is good in a good thing always: and not only when I am present with you.
KJV: But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you.

DARBY: my children, of whom I again travail in birth until Christ shall have been formed in you:
DRA: My little children, of whom I am in labour again, until Christ be formed in you.
KJV: My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,
Galatians 4:20

ASV: but I could wish to be present with you now, and to change my tone; for I am perplexed about you.
BSB: how I wish I could be with you now and change my tone, because I am perplexed about you.
DARBY: and I should wish to be present with you now, and change my voice, for I am perplexed as to you.

ASV: Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?
BSB: Tell me, you who want to be under the law, do you not understand what the law says?
DARBY: Tell me, ye who are desirous of being under law, do ye not listen to the law?
DRA: Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, have you not read the law?
KJV: Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?
Galatians 4:22
AMP: For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman [Hagar] and one by the free woman [Sarah]. [Gen 16:15; 21:2, 9]
ASV: For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, one by the handmaid, and one by the freewoman.
BSB: For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman.
DARBY: For it is written that Abraham had two sons; one of the maid servant, and one of the free woman.
DRA: For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, and the other by a free woman.
KJV: For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.
Galatians 4:23
AMP: But the child of the slave woman was born according to the flesh and had an ordinary birth, while the son of the free woman was born in fulfillment of the promise.
ASV: Howbeit the [son] by the handmaid is born after the flesh; but the [son] by the freewoman [is born] through promise.
BSB: His son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, but his son by the free woman was born through the promise.
DARBY: But he [that was] of the maid servant was born according to flesh, and he [that was] of the free woman through the promise.

Galatians 4:24
AMP: Now these facts are about to be used [by me] as an allegory [that is, I will illustrate by using them]: for these women can represent two covenants: one [covenant originated] from Mount Sinai [where the Law was given] that bears children [destined] for slavery; she is Hagar.
ASV: Which things contain an allegory: for these [women] are two covenants; one from mount Sinai, bearing children unto bondage, which is Hagar.
BSB: These things serve as illustrations, for the women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children into slavery: This is Hagar.
DARBY: Which things have an allegorical sense; for these are two covenants: one from mount Sinai, gendering to bondage, which is Hagar.
DRA: Which things are said by an allegory. For these are the two testaments. The one from mount Sina, engendering unto bondage; which is Agar:
KJV: Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.
Galatians 4:25
AMP: Now Hagar is (represents) Mount Sinai in Arabia and she corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children.
ASV: Now this Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia and answereth to the Jerusalem that now is: for she is in bondage with her children.
BSB: Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present-day Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children.
DARBY: For Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which [is] now, for she is in bondage with her children;
DRA: For Sina is a mountain in Arabia, which hath affinity to that Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.
KJV: For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.
Galatians 4:26

BSB: But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother.
DARBY: but the Jerusalem above is free, which is our mother.
DRA: But that Jerusalem, which is above, is free: which is our mother.
KJV: But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
Galatians 4:27
AMP: For it is written [in the Scriptures],“Rejoice, o barren woman who has not given birth;Break forth into a [joyful] shout, you who are not in labor; For the desolate woman has many more childrenThan she who has a husband.” [Is 54:1]
ASV: For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; Break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: For more are the children of the desolate than of her that hath the husband.
BSB: For it is written:“Rejoice, O barren woman, who bears no children;break forth and cry aloud, you who have never travailed;because more are the children of the desolate womanthan of her who has a husband.”
DARBY: For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break out and cry, thou that travailest not; because the children of the desolate are more numerous than [those] of her that has a husband.
DRA: For it is written: Rejoice, thou barren, that bearest not: break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for many are the children of the desolate, more than of her that hath a husband.
KJV: For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.
Galatians 4:28
AMP: And we, [believing] brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children [not merely of physical descent, like Ishmael, but are children born] of promise [born miraculously].
ASV: Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise.
BSB: Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise.
DARBY: But *ye*, brethren, after the pattern of Isaac, are children of promise.
DRA: Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
KJV: Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
Galatians 4:29
AMP: But as at that time the child [of ordinary birth] born according to the flesh persecuted the son who was born according to [the promise and working of] the Spirit, so it is now also. [Gen 21:9]
ASV: But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him [that was born] after the Spirit, so also it is now.
BSB: At that time, however, the son born by the flesh persecuted the son born by the Spirit. It is the same now.
DARBY: But as then he that was born according to flesh persecuted him [that was born] according to Spirit, so also [it is] now.
DRA: But as then he, that was born according to the flesh, persecuted him that was after the spirit; so also it is now.
KJV: But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
Galatians 4:30
AMP: But what does the Scripture say?“Cast out the bondwoman [Hagar] and her son [Ishmael],For never shall the son of the bondwoman be heir and share the inheritance with the son of the free woman.” [Gen 21:10]
ASV: Howbeit what saith the scripture? Cast out the handmaid and her son: for the son of the handmaid shall not inherit with the son of the freewoman.
BSB: But what does the Scripture say? “Expel the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.”
DARBY: But what says the scripture? Cast out the maid servant and her son; for the son of the maid servant shall not inherit with the son of the free woman.
DRA: But what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son; for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the free woman.
KJV: Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the free woman.
Galatians 4:31
AMP: So then, believers, we [who are born again—reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose] are not children of a slave woman [the natural], but of the free woman [the supernatural].
ASV: Wherefore, brethren, we are not children of a handmaid, but of the freewoman.
BSB: Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.
DARBY: So then, brethren, we are not maid servant's children, but [children] of the free woman.
DRA: So then, brethren, we are not the children of the bondwoman, but of the free: by the freedom wherewith Christ has made us free.
KJV: So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.
