Hebrews 13:1

AMP: Let love of your fellow believers continue.

ASV: Let love of the brethren continue.

BSB: Continue in brotherly love.

Hebrews 13:2

AMP: Do not neglect to extend hospitality to strangers [especially among the family of believers—being friendly, cordial, and gracious, sharing the comforts of your home and doing your part generously], for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it. [Gen 18:1-8; 19:1-3; Judg 6:11-24; 13:6-20]

ASV: Forget not to show love unto strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Hebrews 13:3

Hebrews 13:4

AMP: Marriage is to be held in honor among all [that is, regarded as something of great value], and the marriage bed undefiled [by immorality or by any sexual sin]; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.

ASV: [Let] marriage [be] had in honor among all, and [let] the bed [be] undefiled: for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

Hebrews 13:5

AMP: Let your character [your moral essence, your inner nature] be free from the love of money [shun greed—be financially ethical], being content with what you have; for He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!” [Josh 1:5]

ASV: Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee.

BSB: Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, for God has said:“Never will I leave you,never will I forsake you.”

Hebrews 13:6

AMP: So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently say,“The Lord is my Helper [in time of need], I will not be afraid.What will man do to me?” [Ps 27:1; 118:6]

ASV: So that with good courage we say, The Lord is my helper; I will not fear: What shall man do unto me?

BSB: So we say with confidence:“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.What can man do to me?”

DARBY: So that, taking courage, we may say, The Lord [is] my helper, and I will not be afraid: what will man do unto me?

Hebrews 13:7

AMP: Remember your leaders [for it was they] who brought you the word of God; and consider the result of their conduct [the outcome of their godly lives], and imitate their faith [their conviction that God exists and is the Creator and Ruler of all things, the Provider of eternal salvation through Christ, and imitate their reliance on God with absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness].

ASV: Remember them that had the rule over you, men that spake unto you the word of God; and considering the issue of their life, imitate their faith.

BSB: Remember your leaders who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.

DARBY: Remember your leaders who have spoken to you the word of God; and considering the issue of their conversation, imitate their faith.

Hebrews 13:8

AMP: Jesus Christ is [eternally changeless, always] the same yesterday and today and forever.
