Hebrews 8:1

ASV: Now in the things which we are saying the chief point [is this]: We have such a high priest, who sat down on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

DARBY: Now a summary of the things of which we are speaking [is], We have such a one high priest who has sat down on [the] right hand of the throne of the greatness in the heavens;

DRA: Now of the things which we have spoken, this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of majesty in the heavens,

Hebrews 8:2

ASV: a minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man.

DARBY: minister of the holy places and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord has pitched, [and] not man.

DRA: A minister of the holies, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord hath pitched, and not man.

Hebrews 8:3

ASV: For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is necessary that this [high priest] also have somewhat to offer.

DARBY: For every high priest is constituted for the offering both of gifts and sacrifices; whence it is needful that this one also should have something which he may offer.

DRA: For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is necessary that he also should have some thing to offer.

KJV: For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.

Hebrews 8:4

ASV: Now if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, seeing there are those who offer the gifts according to the law;

DARBY: If then indeed he were upon earth, he would not even be a priest, there being those who offer the gifts according to the law,

DRA: If then he were on earth, he would not be a priest: seeing that there would be others to offer gifts according to the law,

KJV: For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:

Hebrews 8:5

ASV: who serve [that which is] a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, even as Moses is warned [of God] when he is about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern that was showed thee in the mount.

DARBY: (who serve the representation and shadow of heavenly things, according as Moses was oracularly told [when] about to make the tabernacle; for See, saith He, that thou make all things according to the pattern which has been shewn to thee in the mountain.)

DRA: Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things. As it was answered to Moses, when he was to finish the tabernacle: See (saith he) that thou make all things according to the pattern which was shewn thee on the mount.

KJV: Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

Hebrews 8:6

ASV: But now hath he obtained a ministry the more excellent, by so much as he is also the mediator of a better covenant, which hath been enacted upon better promises.

DARBY: But now he has got a more excellent ministry, by so much as he is mediator of a better covenant, which is established on the footing of better promises.

DRA: But now he hath obtained a better ministry, by how much also he is a mediator of a better testament, which is established on better promises.

KJV: But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

Hebrews 8:7

ASV: For if that first [covenant] had been faultless, then would no place have been sought for a second.

DARBY: For if that first was faultless, place had not been sought for a second.

DRA: For if that former had been faultless, there should not indeed a place have been sought for a second.

KJV: For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

Hebrews 8:8

ASV: For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, That I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah;

DARBY: For finding fault, he says to them, Behold, days come, saith the Lord, and I will consummate a new covenant as regards the house of Israel, and as regards the house of Juda;

DRA: For finding fault with them, he saith: Behold, the days shall come, saith the Lord: and I will perfect unto the house of Israel, and unto the house of Juda, a new testament:

KJV: For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

Hebrews 8:9

ASV: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers In the day that I took them by the hand to lead them forth out of the land of Egypt; For they continued not in my covenant, And I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

DARBY: not according to the covenant which I made to their fathers in [the] day of my taking their hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because *they* did not continue in my covenant, and *I* did not regard them, saith [the] Lord.

DRA: Not according to the testament which I made to their fathers, on the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt: because they continued not in my testament: and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

KJV: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

Hebrews 8:10

ASV: For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel After those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, And on their heart also will I write them: And I will be to them a God, And they shall be to me a people:

DARBY: Because this [is] the covenant that I will covenant to the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord: Giving my laws into their mind, I will write them also upon their hearts; and I will be to them for God, and *they* shall be to me for people.

DRA: For this is the testament which I will make to the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord: I will give my laws into their mind, and in their heart will I write them: and I will be their God, and they shall be my people:

KJV: For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Hebrews 8:11

ASV: And they shall not teach every man his fellow-citizen, And every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: For all shall know me, From the least to the greatest of them.

DARBY: And they shall not teach each his fellow-citizen, and each his brother, saying, Know the Lord; because all shall know me in themselves, from [the] little one [among them] unto [the] great among them.

DRA: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me from the least to the greatest of them:

KJV: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

Hebrews 8:12

ASV: For I will be merciful to their iniquities, And their sins will I remember no more.

DARBY: Because I will be merciful to their unrighteousnesses, and their sins and their lawlessnesses I will never remember any more.

DRA: Because I will be merciful to their iniquities, and their sins I will remember no more.

KJV: For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Hebrews 8:13

ASV: In that he saith, A new [covenant] he hath made the first old. But that which is becoming old and waxeth aged is nigh unto vanishing away.

DARBY: In that he says New, he has made the first old; but that which grows old and aged [is] near disappearing.

DRA: Now in saying a new, he hath made the former old. And that which decayeth and groweth old, is near its end.

KJV: In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
