Hosea 14:1

AMP: O Israel, return [in repentance] to the Lord your God,For you have stumbled and fallen [visited by tragedy], because of your sin.

ASV: O Israel, return unto Jehovah thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.

BSB: Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God,for you have stumbled by your iniquity.

DRA: Let Samaria perish, because she hath stirred up her God to bitterness: let them perish by the sword, let their little ones be dashed, and let the women with child be ripped up.

Hosea 14:2

AMP: Take the words [confessing your guilt] with you and return to the Lord.Say to Him, “Take away all our wickedness;Accept what is good and receive us graciously,So that we may present the fruit of our lips (gratitude). [Heb 13:15]

ASV: Take with you words, and return unto Jehovah: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and accept that which is good: so will we render [as] bullocks [the offering of] our lips.

BSB: Bring your confessionsand return to the LORD.Say to Him: “Take away all our iniquityand receive us graciously,that we may presentthe fruit of our lips.

DARBY: Take with you words, and turn to Jehovah; say unto him, Forgive all iniquity, and receive [us] graciously; so will we render the calves of our lips.

Hosea 14:3

AMP: “Assyria will not save us;We will not ride on horses [relying on military might],Nor will we say again to [the idols who are] the work of our hands,‘You are our gods.’For in You [O Lord] the orphan finds love and compassion and mercy.”

ASV: Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses; neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, [Ye are] our gods; for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.

BSB: Assyria will not save us,nor will we ride on horses.We will never again say, ‘Our gods!’to the work of our own hands.For in You the fatherless find compassion.”

Hosea 14:4

AMP: ¶I will heal their apostasy and faithlessness;I will love them freely,For My anger has turned away from Israel.

ASV: I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely; for mine anger is turned away from him.

Hosea 14:7

AMP: Those who live in his shadowWill again raise grain,And they will blossom like the vine.His renown will be like the wine of Lebanon.

ASV: They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive [as] the grain, and blossom as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.

BSB: They will return and dwell in his shade;they will grow grain and blossom like the vine.His renown will be like the wine of Lebanon.

DARBY: They shall return and sit under his shadow; they shall revive [as] corn, and blossom as the vine: the renown thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.

Hosea 14:8

AMP: ¶O Ephraim, what more have I to do with idols?It is I who have answered and will care for you and watch over you.I am like a luxuriant cypress tree;With Me your fruit is found [which is to nourish you].

ASV: Ephraim [shall say], What have I to do any more with idols? I have answered, and will regard him: I am like a green fir-tree; from me is thy fruit found.

BSB: O Ephraim, what have I to doanymore with idols?It is I who answer and watch over him.I am like a flourishing cypress;your fruit comes from Me.

DARBY: Ephraim [shall say], What have I to do any more with idols? (I answer [him], and I will observe him.) I am like a green fir-tree. From me is thy fruit found.

DRA: They shall be converted that sit under his shadow: they shall live upon wheat, and they shall blossom as a vine: his memorial shall be as the wine of Libanus.

KJV: Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found.

Hosea 14:9

AMP: ¶Whoever is [spiritually] wise, let him understand these things;Whoever is [spiritually] discerning and understanding, let him know them.For the ways of the Lord are right,And the righteous will walk in them,But transgressors will stumble and fall in them. [Ps 107:43; Is 26:7; Jer 9:12; Dan 12:10]

ASV: Who is wise, that he may understand these things? prudent, that he may know them? for the ways of Jehovah are right, and the just shall walk in them; but transgressors shall fall therein.

BSB: Whoever is wise, let him understand these things;whoever is discerning, let him know them.For the ways of the LORD are right,and the righteous walk in thembut the rebellious stumble in them.

DARBY: Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? intelligent, and he shall know them? For the ways of Jehovah are right, and the just shall walk in them; but the transgressors shall fall therein.
