AMP: Oh, that You would tear open the heavens and come down,That the mountains might quake at Your presence—

Isaiah 64:2
AMP: As [sure as] fire kindles the brushwood, as fire causes water to boil—To make Your name known to Your adversaries,That the nations may tremble at Your presence!

Isaiah 64:3
AMP: When You did awesome and amazing things which we did not expect,You came down [at Sinai]; the mountains quaked at Your presence.
ASV: When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains quaked at thy presence.

Isaiah 64:4
AMP: For from days of old no one has heard, nor has ear perceived,Nor has the eye seen a God besides You,Who works and acts in behalf of the one who [gladly] waits for Him.
ASV: For from of old men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen a God besides thee, who worketh for him that waiteth for him.
BSB: From ancient times no one has heard,no ear has perceived,no eye has seen any God besides You,who acts on behalf of those who wait for Him.
DARBY: Never have [men] heard, nor perceived by the ear, nor hath eye seen a God beside thee, who acteth for him that waiteth for him.

Isaiah 64:5
AMP: You meet him who rejoices in doing that which is morally right,Who remembers You in Your ways.Indeed, You were angry, for we sinned;We have long continued in our sins [prolonging Your anger].And shall we be saved [under such circumstances]?
ASV: Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou wast wroth, and we sinned: in them [have we been] of long time; and shall we be saved?
BSB: You welcome those who gladly do right,who remember Your ways.Surely You were angry, for we sinned.How can we be saved if we remain in our sins?
DARBY: Thou meetest him that rejoiceth to do righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: (behold, thou wast wroth, and we have sinned:) in those is perpetuity, and we shall be saved.
DRA: Thou hast met him that rejoiceth, and doth justice: in thy ways they shall remember thee: behold thou art angry, and we have sinned: in them we have been always, and we shall be saved.
KJV: Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved.
Isaiah 64:6
AMP: For we all have become like one who is [ceremonially] unclean [like a leper],And all our deeds of righteousness are like filthy rags;We all wither and decay like a leaf,And our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing], like the wind, takes us away [carrying us far from God’s favor, toward destruction]. [Lev 13:45, 46]
ASV: For we are all become as one that is unclean, and all our righteousnesses are as a polluted garment: and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.
BSB: Each of us has become like something unclean,and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;we all wither like a leaf,and our iniquities carry us away like the wind.
DARBY: And we are all become as an unclean [thing], and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have carried us away;

Isaiah 64:7
AMP: There is no one who calls on Your name,Who awakens and causes himself to take hold of You;For You have hidden Your face from usAnd have handed us over to the [consuming and destructive] power of our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]. [Rom 1:21-24]
ASV: And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee; for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us by means of our iniquities.

AMP: Considering these [tragedies], will You restrain Yourself, O Lord [and not help us]?Will You keep silent and humiliate and oppress us beyond measure?
ASV: Wilt thou refrain thyself for these things, O Jehovah? wilt thou hold thy peace, and afflict us very sore?
