Job 11:2

ASV: Should not the multitude of words be answered? And should a man full of talk be justified?

DARBY: Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man of much talk be justified?

DRA: Shall not he that speaketh much, hear also? or shall a man full of talk be justified?

Job 11:3

ASV: Should thy boastings make men hold their peace? And when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?

DARBY: Should thy fictions make men hold their peace? and shouldest thou mock, and no one make [thee] ashamed?

DRA: Shall men hold their peace to thee only? and when thou hast mocked others, shall no man confute thee?

Job 11:4

ASV: For thou sayest, My doctrine is pure, And I am clean in thine eyes.

Job 11:5

ASV: But oh that God would speak, And open his lips against thee,

Job 11:6

ASV: And that he would show thee the secrets of wisdom! For he is manifold in understanding. Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.

DARBY: And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, how that they are the double of what is realised; and know that God passeth by [much] of thine iniquity!

DRA: That he might shew thee the secrets of wisdom, and that his law is manifold, and thou mightest understand that he exacteth much less of thee, than thy iniquity deserveth.

Job 11:7

ASV: Canst thou by searching find out God? Canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?

DRA: Peradventure thou wilt comprehend the steps of God, and wilt find out the Almighty perfectly?

Job 11:8

ASV: It is high as heaven; what canst thou do? Deeper than Sheol; what canst thou know?

DRA: He is higher than heaven, and what wilt thou do ? he is deeper than hell, and how wilt thou know?

ASV: The measure thereof is longer than the earth, And broader than the sea.

ASV: But vain man is void of understanding, Yea, man is born [as] a wild ass`s colt.

DRA: A vain man is lifted up into pride, and thinketh himself born free like a wild ass's colt.

ASV: If thou set thy heart aright, And stretch out thy hands toward him;

Job 11:14

ASV: If iniquity be in thy hand, put it far away, And let not unrighteousness dwell in thy tents.

ASV: For thou shalt forget thy misery; Thou shalt remember it as waters that are passed away,

Job 11:17

ASV: And [thy] life shall be clearer than the noonday; Though there be darkness, it shall be as the morning.

DRA: And brightness like that of the noonday, shall arise to thee at evening: and when thou shalt think thyself consumed, thou shalt rise as the day star.

Job 11:18

ASV: And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; Yea, thou shalt search [about thee], and shalt take thy rest in safety.

DRA: And thou shalt have confidence, hope being set before thee, and being buried thou shalt sleep secure.

ASV: Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; Yea, many shall make suit unto thee.

ASV: But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, And they shall have no way to flee; And their hope shall be the giving up of the ghost.

DRA: But the eyes of the wicked shall decay, and the way to escape shall fail them, and their hope the abomination of the soul.
