Job 11:2

AMP: “Shall a multitude of words not be answered?And should a talkative man [making such a long-winded defense] be acquitted?

ASV: Should not the multitude of words be answered? And should a man full of talk be justified?

BSB: “Should this stream of words go unansweredand such a speaker be vindicated?

DARBY: Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man of much talk be justified?

DRA: Shall not he that speaketh much, hear also? or shall a man full of talk be justified?

Job 11:3

AMP: “Should your boasts and babble silence men?And shall you scoff and no one put you to shame?

ASV: Should thy boastings make men hold their peace? And when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?

BSB: Should your babbling put others to silence?Will you scoff without rebuke?

DARBY: Should thy fictions make men hold their peace? and shouldest thou mock, and no one make [thee] ashamed?

DRA: Shall men hold their peace to thee only? and when thou hast mocked others, shall no man confute thee?

Job 11:4

AMP: “For you have said, ‘My teaching (doctrine) [that God knowingly afflicts the righteous] is pure,And I am innocent in your eyes.’ [Job 10:7]

ASV: For thou sayest, My doctrine is pure, And I am clean in thine eyes.

BSB: You have said, ‘My doctrine is sound,and I am pure in Your sight.’

DARBY: For thou sayest, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes.

Job 11:5

AMP: “But oh, that God would speak,And open His lips [to speak] against you,

Job 11:6

AMP: And [that He would] show you the secrets of wisdom!For sound wisdom has two sides.Know therefore that God forgets a part of your wickedness and guilt.

ASV: And that he would show thee the secrets of wisdom! For he is manifold in understanding. Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.

BSB: and disclose to you the secrets of wisdom,for true wisdom has two sides.Know then that God exacts from youless than your iniquity deserves.

Job 11:7

AMP: ¶“Can you discover the depths of God?Can you [by searching] discover the limits of the Almighty [ascend to His heights, extend to His widths, and comprehend His infinite perfection]?

ASV: Canst thou by searching find out God? Canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?

BSB: Can you fathom the deep things of Godor discover the limits of the Almighty?

DRA: Peradventure thou wilt comprehend the steps of God, and wilt find out the Almighty perfectly?

Job 11:8

AMP: “His wisdom is as high as the heights of heaven. What can you do?It is deeper than Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead). What can you know?

Job 11:10

AMP: “If God passes by or arrests,Or calls an assembly [of judgment], who can restrain Him?[If He is against a man, who can call Him to account for it?]

ASV: If he pass through, and shut up, And all unto judgment, then who can hinder him?

BSB: If He comes along to imprison you,or convenes a court, who can stop Him?

DARBY: If he pass by, and shut up, and call to judgment, who can hinder him?

DRA: If he shall overturn all things, or shall press them together, who shall contradict him?

Job 11:11

AMP: “For He recognizes and knows false and worthless men,And He sees wickedness, will He not consider it?

ASV: For he knoweth false men: He seeth iniquity also, even though he consider it not.

BSB: Surely He knows the deceit of men.If He sees iniquity, does He not take note?

DARBY: For he knoweth vain men, and seeth wickedness when [man] doth not consider it;

DRA: For he knoweth the vanity of men, and when he seeth iniquity, doth he not consider it?

Job 11:12

AMP: “But a hollow (empty-headed) man will become intelligent and wise[Only] when the colt of a wild donkey is born as a man.

ASV: But vain man is void of understanding, Yea, man is born [as] a wild ass`s colt.

BSB: But a witless man can no more become wisethan the colt of a wild donkey can be born a man!

DARBY: Yet a senseless man will make bold, though man be born [like] the foal of a wild ass.

DRA: A vain man is lifted up into pride, and thinketh himself born free like a wild ass's colt.

Job 11:13

AMP: Then, indeed, you could lift up your face [to Him] without moral defect,And you would be firmly established and secure and not fear.
