Job 12:2

AMP: “No doubt you are the [only wise] people [in the world],And wisdom will die with you!

ASV: No doubt but ye are the people, And wisdom shall die with you.

BSB: “Truly then you are the peoplewith whom wisdom itself will die!

DARBY: Truly ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you!

DRA: Are you then men alone, and shall wisdom die with you?

Job 12:3

AMP: “But I have intelligence and understanding as well as you;I am not inferior to you.Who does not know such things as these [of God’s wisdom and might]?

ASV: But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: Yea, who knoweth not such things as these?

BSB: But I also have a mind;I am not inferior to you.Who does not know such things as these?

Job 12:4

AMP: “I am a joke to my friends;I, one whom God answered when he called upon Him—A just and blameless man is a joke [and laughed to scorn].

ASV: I am as one that is a laughing-stock to his neighbor, I who called upon God, and he answered: The just, the perfect man is a laughing-stock.

BSB: I am a laughingstock to my friends,though I called on God, and He answered.The righteous and upright man is a laughingstock.

DARBY: I am to be one that is a derision to his friend, I who call upon God, and whom he will answer: a derision is the just upright [man].

DRA: He that is mocked by his friends as I, shall call upon God and he will hear him: for the simplicity of the just man is laughed to scorn.

Job 12:5

AMP: “He who is at ease has contempt for misfortune,But misfortune is ready [and anxiously waiting] for those whose feet slip.

ASV: In the thought of him that is at ease there is contempt for misfortune; It is ready for them whose foot slippeth.

BSB: The one at ease scorns misfortuneas the fate of those whose feet are slipping.

DARBY: He that is ready to stumble with the foot is a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease.

DRA: The lamp despised in the thoughts of the rich, is ready for the time appointed.

Job 12:6

AMP: “The tents of the destroyers prosper;And those who provoke God are [apparently] secure,Whom God brings into their power.

ASV: The tents of robbers prosper, And they that provoke God are secure; Into whose hand God bringeth [abundantly].
