Job 18:2

AMP: “How long will you hunt for words and continue these speeches?Do some clear thinking and show understanding and then we can talk.

ASV: How long will ye hunt for words? Consider, and afterwards we will speak.

BSB: “How long until you end these speeches?Show some sense, and then we can talk.

DARBY: How long will ye hunt for words? Be intelligent, and then we will speak.

Job 18:3

AMP: “Why are we regarded as beasts,As if [we are] stupid (senseless) in your eyes?

ASV: Wherefore are we counted as beasts, [And] are become unclean in your sight?

DARBY: Wherefore are we counted as beasts, and reputed stupid in your sight?

Job 18:4

AMP: “You who tear yourself apart in anger,Is the earth to be abandoned for your sake,Or the rock to be moved out of its place?

ASV: Thou that tearest thyself in thine anger, Shall the earth be forsaken for thee? Or shall the rock be removed out of its place?

BSB: You who tear yourself in anger—should the earth be forsaken on your account,or the rocks be moved from their place?

Job 18:5

AMP: ¶“Indeed, the light of the wicked will be put out,And the flame of his fire will not shine. [Prov 13:9; 24:20]
