Job 26:2

AMP: “What a help you are to the weak (powerless)!How you have saved the arm that is without strength!

ASV: How hast thou helped him that is without power! How hast thou saved the arm that hath no strength!

BSB: “How you have helped the powerlessand saved the arm that is feeble!

DARBY: How hast thou helped the powerless; how saved the arm that is without strength!

DRA: Whose helper art thou? is it of him that is weak? and dost thou hold up the arm of him that has no strength?

KJV: How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength?

Job 26:3

AMP: “How you have counseled the one who has no wisdom!And how abundantly you have provided sound wisdom and helpful insight!

ASV: How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom, And plentifully declared sound knowledge!

BSB: How you have counseled the unwiseand provided fully sound insight!

DARBY: How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom, and abundantly declared the thing as it is!

DRA: To whom hast thou given counsel? perhaps to him that hath no wisdom, and thou hast shewn thy very great prudence.

Job 26:4

AMP: “To whom have you uttered [these] words?And whose spirit [inspired what] came forth from you?

ASV: To whom hast thou uttered words? And whose spirit came forth from thee?

BSB: To whom have you uttered these words?And whose spirit spoke through you?

DARBY: For whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?

DRA: Whom hast thou desired to teach? was it not him that made life?

Job 26:5

AMP: ¶“The spirits of the dead trembleUnderneath the waters and their inhabitants.

ASV: They that are deceased tremble Beneath the waters and the inhabitants thereof.

BSB: The dead tremble —those beneath the waters and those who dwell in them.

DARBY: The shades tremble beneath the waters and the inhabitants thereof;

DRA: Behold the giants groan under the waters, and they that dwell with them.

Job 26:6

AMP: “Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead) is naked before God,And Abaddon (the place of destruction) has no covering [from His eyes].

ASV: Sheol is naked before [God], And Abaddon hath no covering.

Job 26:7

AMP: “It is He who spreads out the north over emptinessAnd hangs the earth on nothing.

Job 26:8

AMP: “He wraps the waters in His clouds [which otherwise would spill on earth all at once],And the cloud does not burst under them.

AMP: “He has inscribed a circular limit (the horizon) on the face of the watersAt the boundary between light and darkness.

Job 26:13

AMP: “By His breath the heavens are cleared;His hand has pierced the [swiftly] fleeing serpent. [Ps 33:6]

ASV: By his Spirit the heavens are garnished; His hand hath pierced the swift serpent.

BSB: By His breath the skies were cleared;His hand pierced the fleeing serpent.

DARBY: By his Spirit the heavens are adorned; his hand hath formed the fleeing serpent.

DRA: His spirit hath adorned the heavens, and his obstetric hand brought forth the winding serpent.

KJV: By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.

Job 26:14

AMP: “Yet these are just the fringes of His ways [mere samples of His power],The faintest whisper of His voice!Who can contemplate the thunder of His [full] mighty power?”

ASV: Lo, these are but the outskirts of his ways: And how small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand?

BSB: Indeed, these are but the fringes of His ways;how faint is the whisper we hear of Him!Who then can understandthe thunder of His power?”

DARBY: Lo, these are the borders of his ways; but what a whisper of a word do we hear of him! And the thunder of his power, who can understand?

DRA: Lo, these things are said in part of his ways: and seeing we have heard scarce a little drop of his word, who shall be able to behold the thunder of his greatness?
