Jonah 2:1

ASV: Then Jonah prayed unto Jehovah his God out of the fish`s belly.

DARBY: And Jonah prayed unto Jehovah his God out of the fish's belly;

DRA: Now the Lord prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonas: and Jonas was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

KJV: Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish’s belly,

Jonah 2:2

ASV: And he said, I called by reason of mine affliction unto Jehovah, And he answered me; Out of the belly of Sheol cried I, [And] thou heardest my voice.

DARBY: and he said: I cried by reason of my distress unto Jehovah, and he answered me; Out of the belly of Sheol cried I: thou heardest my voice.

DRA: And Jonas prayed to the Lord his God out of the belly of the fish.

KJV: And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

Jonah 2:3

ASV: For thou didst cast me into the depth, in the heart of the seas, And the flood was round about me; All thy waves and thy billows passed over me.

DARBY: For thou didst cast me into the depth, into the heart of the seas, And the flood was round about me: All thy breakers and thy billows are gone over me.

DRA: And he said: I cried out of my affliction to the Lord, and he heard me: I cried out of the belly of hell, and thou hast heard my voice.

KJV: For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.

Jonah 2:4

ASV: And I said, I am cast out from before thine eyes; Yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.

DARBY: And I said, I am cast out from before thine eyes, Yet will I look again toward thy holy temple.

DRA: And thou hast cast me forth into the deep in the heart of the sea, and a flood hath compassed me: all thy billows, and thy waves have passed over me.

KJV: Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.

Jonah 2:5

ASV: The waters compassed me about, even to the soul; The deep was round about me; The weeds were wrapped about my head.

DARBY: The waters encompassed me, to the soul: The deep was round about me, The weeds were wrapped about my head.

DRA: And I said: I am cast away out of the sight of thy eyes: but yet I shall see thy holy temple again.

ASV: I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; The earth with its bars [closed] upon me for ever: Yet hast thou brought up my life from the pit, O Jehovah my God.

DARBY: I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; The bars of the earth [closed] upon me for ever: But thou hast brought up my life from the pit, O Jehovah my God.

DRA: The waters compassed me about even to the soul: the deep hath closed me round about, the sea hath covered my head.

KJV: I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.

ASV: When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Jehovah; And my prayer came in unto thee, into thy holy temple.

ASV: But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation is of Jehovah.

ASV: And Jehovah spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.

DRA: But I with the voice of praise will sacrifice to thee: I will pay whatsoever I have vowed for my salvation to the Lord.
