Psalms 102:1

AMP: Hear my prayer, O Lord,And let my cry for help come to You!

ASV: Hear my prayer, O Jehovah, And let my cry come unto thee.

BSB: Hear my prayer, O LORD;let my cry for help come before You.

DARBY: {A Prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed, and poureth out his complaint before Jehovah.} Jehovah, hear my prayer, and let my cry come unto thee.

Psalms 102:2

AMP: Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my distress!Incline Your ear to me;In the day when I call, answer me quickly.

ASV: Hide not thy face from me in the day of my distress: Incline thine ear unto me; In the day when I call answer me speedily.

Psalms 102:3

AMP: For my days have vanished in smoke,And my bones have been scorched like a hearth.

ASV: For my days consume away like smoke, And my bones are burned as a firebrand.

DARBY: For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as a firebrand.

DRA: Turn not away thy face from me: in the day when I am in trouble, incline thy ear to me. In what day soever I shall call upon thee, hear me speedily.

Psalms 102:4

AMP: My heart has been struck like grass and withered,Indeed, [absorbed by my heartache] I forget to eat my food.

ASV: My heart is smitten like grass, and withered; For I forget to eat my bread.

AMP: Because of the sound of my groaning [in suffering and trouble]My bones cling to my flesh.

AMP: I am like a [mournful] vulture of the wilderness;I am like a [desolate] owl of the wasteland.

AMP: I am sleepless and lie awake [mourning],I have become like a lonely bird on a housetop.

Psalms 102:8

AMP: ¶My enemies taunt me all day long;Those who ridicule me use my name as a curse.

ASV: Mine enemies reproach me all the day; They that are mad against me do curse by me.

AMP: My days are like an evening shadow that lengthens and vanishes [with the sun];And as for me, I wither away like grass.

Psalms 102:12

AMP: ¶But You, O Lord, are enthroned forever [ruling eternally as sovereign];And [the fame and glory of] Your name [endures] to all generations.

ASV: But thou, O Jehovah, wilt abide for ever; And thy memorial [name] unto all generations.

BSB: But You, O LORD, sit enthroned forever;Your renown endures to all generations.

Psalms 102:13

AMP: You will arise and have compassion on Zion,For it is time to be gracious and show favor to her;Yes, the appointed time [the moment designated] has come. [Ps 12:5; 119:126]

ASV: Thou wilt arise, and have mercy upon Zion; For it is time to have pity upon her, Yea, the set time is come.

BSB: You will rise up and have compassion on Zion,for it is time to show her favor —the appointed time has come.

Psalms 102:14

AMP: For Your servants find [melancholy] pleasure in the stones [of her ruins]And feel pity for her dust.

ASV: For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, And have pity upon her dust.

BSB: For Your servants delight in her stonesand take pity on her dust.

DARBY: For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour her dust.

DRA: Thou shalt arise and have mercy on Sion: for it is time to have mercy on it, for the time is come.

Psalms 102:15

AMP: So the nations will fear the name of the Lord,And all the kings of the earth [will recognize] Your glory. [Ps 96:9]

ASV: So the nations shall fear the name of Jehovah, And all the kings of the earth thy glory.

BSB: So the nations will fear the name of the LORD,and all the kings of the earth will fear Your glory.

DRA: For the stones thereof have pleased thy servants: and they shall have pity on the earth thereof.

Psalms 102:16

AMP: For the Lord has built up Zion;He has appeared in His glory and brilliance;

ASV: For Jehovah hath built up Zion; He hath appeared in his glory.

BSB: For the LORD will rebuild Zion;He has appeared in His glory.

DARBY: When Jehovah shall build up Zion, he will appear in his glory.

DRA: And the Gentiles shall fear thy name, O Lord, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.

Psalms 102:17

AMP: He has regarded the prayer of the destitute,And has not despised their prayer.

ASV: He hath regarded the prayer of the destitute, And hath not despised their prayer.

BSB: He will turn toward the prayer of the destitute;He will not despise their prayer.

DARBY: He will regard the prayer of the destitute one, and not despise their prayer.

Psalms 102:18

AMP: ¶Let this be recorded for the generation to come,That a people yet to be created will praise the Lord.

ASV: This shall be written for the generation to come; And a people which shall be created shall praise Jehovah.

Psalms 102:20

AMP: To hear the sighing of the prisoner,To set free those who were doomed to death,

ASV: To hear the sighing of the prisoner; To loose those that are appointed to death;

BSB: to hear a prisoner’s groaning,to release those condemned to death,

DARBY: To hear the groaning of the prisoner, to loose those that are appointed to die;

DRA: Because he hath looked forth from his high sanctuary: from heaven the Lord hath looked upon the earth.

Psalms 102:21

AMP: So that people may declare the name of the Lord in ZionAnd His praise in Jerusalem,

ASV: That men may declare the name of Jehovah in Zion, And his praise in Jerusalem;

BSB: that they may proclaim the name of the LORD in Zionand praise Him in Jerusalem,

DARBY: That the name of Jehovah may be declared in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem,

DRA: That he might hear the groans of them that are in fetters: that he might release the children of the slain:

Psalms 102:22

AMP: When the peoples are gathered together,And the kingdoms, to serve the Lord.

ASV: When the peoples are gathered together, And the kingdoms, to serve Jehovah.

DARBY: When the peoples shall be gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve Jehovah.

Psalms 102:23

AMP: ¶He has exhausted my strength [humbling me with sorrow] in the way;He has shortened my days.

ASV: He weakened my strength in the way; He shortened my days.

DRA: When the people assemble together, and kings, to serve the Lord.

Psalms 102:24

AMP: I said, “O my God, do not take me away in the midst of my days;Your years are [eternal] throughout all generations.

ASV: I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: Thy years are throughout all generations.

AMP: “At the beginning You founded the earth;The heavens are the work of Your hands.

ASV: Of old didst thou lay the foundation of the earth; And the heavens are the work of thy hands.

Psalms 102:26

AMP: “Even they will perish, but You endure;Yes, all of them will wear out like a garment.Like clothing You will change them and they shall be changed.

ASV: They shall perish, but thou shalt endure; Yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; As a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:
