Psalms 126:1

AMP: When the Lord brought back the captives to Zion (Jerusalem),We were like those who dream [it seemed so unreal]. [Ps 53:6; Acts 12:9]

ASV: When Jehovah brought back those that returned to Zion, We were like unto them that dream.

BSB: When the LORD restored the captives of Zion,we were like dreamers.

Psalms 126:2

AMP: Then our mouth was filled with laughterAnd our tongue with joyful shouting;Then they said among the nations,“The Lord has done great things for them.”

ASV: Then was our mouth filled with laughter, And our tongue with singing: Then said they among the nations, Jehovah hath done great things for them.

BSB: Then our mouths were filled with laughter,our tongues with shouts of joy.Then it was said among the nations,“The LORD has done great things for them.”

DARBY: Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with rejoicing: then said they among the nations, Jehovah hath done great things for them.

Psalms 126:3

AMP: The Lord has done great things for us;We are glad!

ASV: Jehovah hath done great things for us, [Whereof] we are glad.

BSB: The LORD has done great things for us;we are filled with joy.

DARBY: Jehovah hath done great things for us; [and] we are joyful.

DRA: For the Lord will not leave the rod of sinners upon the lot of the just: that the just may not stretch forth their hands to iniquity.

Psalms 126:4

AMP: ¶Restore our captivity, O Lord,As the stream-beds in the South (the Negev) [are restored by torrents of rain].

ASV: Turn again our captivity, O Jehovah, As the streams in the South.

BSB: Restore our captives, O LORD,like streams in the Negev.

DARBY: Turn our captivity, O Jehovah, as the streams in the south.

DRA: Do good, O Lord, to those that are good, and to the upright of heart.

Psalms 126:5

AMP: They who sow in tears shall reap with joyful singing.

ASV: They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

BSB: Those who sow in tearswill reap with shouts of joy.

DARBY: They that sow in tears shall reap with rejoicing:

DRA: But such as turn aside into bonds, the Lord shall lead out with the workers of iniquity: peace upon Israel.

Psalms 126:6

AMP: He who goes back and forth weeping, carrying his bag of seed [for planting],Will indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.

ASV: He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with joy, bringing his sheaves [with him]. Psalm 127 A Song of Ascents; of Solomon.

BSB: He who goes out weeping,bearing a trail of seed,will surely return with shouts of joy,carrying sheaves of grain.
