Psalms 129:1

AMP: “Many times they have persecuted me (Israel) from my youth,”Let Israel now say,

ASV: Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth up, Let Israel now say,

Psalms 129:2

AMP: “Many times they have persecuted me from my youth,Yet they have not prevailed against me.

ASV: Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth up: Yet they have not prevailed against me.

Psalms 129:3

AMP: “The [enemies, like] plowers plowed on my back;They made their furrows [of suffering] long [in Israel].”

ASV: The plowers plowed upon my back; They made long their furrows.

Psalms 129:4

AMP: The Lord is righteous;He has cut in two the [thick] cords of the wicked [which enslaved the people of Israel].

ASV: Jehovah is righteous: He hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

BSB: The LORD is righteous;He has cut me from the cords of the wicked.

DARBY: Jehovah is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

DRA: Behold, thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the Lord.

Psalms 129:5

AMP: ¶May all who hate ZionBe put to shame and turned backward [in defeat].

ASV: Let them be put to shame and turned backward, All they that hate Zion.

BSB: May all who hate Zionbe turned back in shame.

DARBY: Let them be ashamed and turned backward, all that hate Zion;

DRA: May the Lord bless thee out of Sion: and mayest thou see the good things of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.

Psalms 129:6

AMP: Let them be like the grass on the housetops,Which withers before it grows up,

ASV: Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, Which withereth before it groweth up;

BSB: May they be like grass on the rooftops,which withers before it can grow,

DARBY: Let them be as the grass upon the house-tops, which withereth before it is plucked up,

DRA: And mayest thou see thy children's children, peace upon Israel.

Psalms 129:7

AMP: With which the reaper does not fill his hand,Nor the binder of sheaves his arms,

ASV: Wherewith the reaper filleth not his hand, Nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.

Psalms 129:8

AMP: Nor do those who pass by say,“The blessing of the Lord be upon you;We bless you in the name of the Lord.”

ASV: Neither do they that go by say, The blessing of Jehovah be upon you; We bless you in the name of Jehovah. Psalm 130 A Song of Ascents.

BSB: May none who pass by say to them,“The blessing of the LORD be on you;we bless you in the name of the LORD.”
