Psalms 129

Psalms 129:1

ASV: Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth up, Let Israel now say,

DARBY: {A Song of degrees.} Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth oh let Israel say

DRA: Blessed are all they that fear the Lord: that walk in his ways.

KJV: Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:

Psalms 129:2

ASV: Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth up: Yet they have not prevailed against me.

DARBY: Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth; yet they have not prevailed against me.

DRA: For thou shalt eat the labours of thy hands: blessed art thou, and it shall be well with thee.

Psalms 129:3

ASV: The plowers plowed upon my back; They made long their furrows.

Psalms 129:4

ASV: Jehovah is righteous: He hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

DRA: Behold, thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the Lord.

Psalms 129:5

ASV: Let them be put to shame and turned backward, All they that hate Zion.

DARBY: Let them be ashamed and turned backward, all that hate Zion;

DRA: May the Lord bless thee out of Sion: and mayest thou see the good things of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.

KJV: Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.

Psalms 129:6

ASV: Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, Which withereth before it groweth up;

DARBY: Let them be as the grass upon the house-tops, which withereth before it is plucked up,

DRA: And mayest thou see thy children's children, peace upon Israel.

Psalms 129:7

ASV: Wherewith the reaper filleth not his hand, Nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.

DARBY: Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand, nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom;

Psalms 129:8

ASV: Neither do they that go by say, The blessing of Jehovah be upon you; We bless you in the name of Jehovah. Psalm 130 A Song of Ascents.

DARBY: Neither do the passers-by say, The blessing of Jehovah be upon you; we bless you in the name of Jehovah!
