Psalms 142:1

AMP: I cry aloud with my voice to the Lord;I make supplication with my voice to the Lord.

ASV: I cry with my voice unto Jehovah; With my voice unto Jehovah do I make supplication.

BSB: I cry aloud to the LORD;I lift my voice to the LORD for mercy.

Psalms 142:2

AMP: I pour out my complaint before Him;I declare my trouble before Him.

ASV: I pour out my complaint before him; I show before him my trouble.

DRA: Let my prayer be directed as incense in thy sight; the lifting up of my hands, as evening sacrifice.

Psalms 142:3

AMP: When my spirit was overwhelmed and weak within me [wrapped in darkness],You knew my path.In the way where I walkThey have hidden a trap for me.

ASV: When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, Thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walk Have they hidden a snare for me.

BSB: Although my spirit grows faint within me,You know my way.Along the path I travelthey have hidden a snare for me.

DRA: Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth: and a door round about my lips.

Psalms 142:4

AMP: Look to the right [the point of attack] and see;For there is no one who has regard for me [to act in my favor].Escape has failed me and I have nowhere to run;No one cares about my life.

ASV: Look on [my] right hand, and see; For there is no man that knoweth me: Refuge hath failed me; No man careth for my soul.

BSB: Look to my right and see;no one attends to me.There is no refuge for me;no one cares for my soul.

DARBY: Look on the right hand and see; there is no man that knoweth me: refuge hath failed me; no man careth for my soul.

DRA: Incline not my heart to evil words; to make excuses in sins. With men that work iniquity: and I will not communicate with the choicest of them.

KJV: I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.

Psalms 142:5

AMP: ¶I cried out to You, O Lord;I said, “You are my refuge,My portion in the land of the living.

ASV: I cried unto thee, O Jehovah; I said, Thou art my refuge, My portion in the land of the living.

BSB: I cry to You, O LORD: “You are my refuge,my portion in the land of the living.”

DARBY: I cried unto thee, Jehovah; I said, Thou art my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.

DRA: The just shall correct me in mercy, and shall reprove me: but let not the oil of the sinner fatten my head. For my prayer also shall still be against the things with which they are well pleased:

Psalms 142:6

AMP: “Give attention to my cry,For I am brought very low;Rescue me from my persecutors,For they are stronger than I.

ASV: Attend unto my cry; For I am brought very low: Deliver me from my persecutors; For they are stronger than I.

BSB: Listen to my cry,for I am brought quite low.Rescue me from my pursuers,for they are too strong for me.

DARBY: Attend unto my cry, for I am brought very low; deliver me from my persecutors, for they are stronger than I.

DRA: their judges falling upon the rock have been swallowed up. They shall hear my words, for they have prevailed:

Psalms 142:7

AMP: “Bring my soul out of prison (adversity),So that I may give thanks and praise Your name;The righteous will surround me [in triumph],For You will look after me.”

ASV: Bring my soul out of prison, That I may give thanks unto thy name: The righteous shall compass me about; For thou wilt deal bountifully with me. Psalm 143 A Psalm of David.

BSB: Free my soul from prison,that I may praise Your name.The righteous will gather around mebecause of Your goodness to me.

DARBY: Bring my soul out of prison, that I may celebrate thy name. The righteous shall surround me, because thou dealest bountifully with me.

DRA: as when the thickness of the earth is broken up upon the ground: Our bones are scattered by the side of hell.

KJV: Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.

Psalms 142:8

DRA: But o to thee, O Lord, Lord, are my eyes: in thee have I put my trust, take not away my soul.

Psalms 142:9

DRA: Keep me from the snare, which they have laid for me, and from the stumblingblocks of them that work iniquity.

Psalms 142:10

DRA: The wicked shall fall in his net: I am alone until I pass.
