Psalms 144:1

AMP: Blessed be the Lord, my Rock and my great strength,Who trains my hands for warAnd my fingers for battle;

ASV: Blessed be Jehovah my rock, Who teacheth my hands to war, [And] my fingers to fight:

Psalms 144:2

AMP: My [steadfast] lovingkindness and my fortress,My high tower and my rescuer,My shield and He in whom I take refuge,Who subdues my people under me.

ASV: My lovingkindness, and my fortress, My high tower, and my deliverer; My shield, and he in whom I take refuge; Who subdueth my people under me.

BSB: He is my steadfast love and my fortress,my stronghold and my deliverer.He is my shield, in whom I take refuge,who subdues peoples under me.

Psalms 144:3

AMP: Lord, what is man that You take notice of him?Or the son of man that You think of him? [Job 7:17; Ps 8:4; Heb 2:6]

ASV: Jehovah, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that thou makest account of him?

BSB: O LORD, what is man, that You regard him,the son of man that You think of him?

DRA: For the enemy hath persecuted my soul: he hath brought down my life to the earth. He hath made me to dwell in darkness as those that have been dead of old:

Psalms 144:4

AMP: Man is like a mere breath;His days are like a shadow that passes away.

ASV: Man is like to vanity: His days are as a shadow that passeth away.

AMP: ¶Bow Your heavens, O Lord, and come down;Touch the mountains, and they will smoke.

Psalms 144:6

AMP: Flash lightning and scatter my enemies;Send out Your arrows and confuse and embarrass and frustrate them.

ASV: Cast forth lightning, and scatter them; Send out thine arrows, and discomfit them.

Psalms 144:7

AMP: Stretch out Your hand from above;Set me free and rescue me from great waters,Out of the hands of [hostile] foreigners [who surround us]

ASV: Stretch forth thy hand from above; Rescue me, and deliver me out of great waters, Out of the hand of aliens;

Psalms 144:8

AMP: Whose mouths speak deceit [without restraint],And whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

ASV: Whose mouth speaketh deceit, And whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

DRA: Cause me to hear thy mercy in the morning; for in thee have I hoped. Make the way known to me, wherein I should walk: for I have lifted up my soul to thee.

Psalms 144:9

AMP: ¶I will sing a new song to You, O God;Upon a harp of ten strings I will sing praises to You,

ASV: I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: Upon a psaltery of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.

BSB: I will sing to You a new song, O God;on a harp of ten strings I will make music to You —

Psalms 144:10

AMP: Who gives salvation to kings,Who sets David His servant free from the evil sword.

ASV: Thou art he that giveth salvation unto kings; Who rescueth David his servant from the hurtful sword.

BSB: to Him who gives victory to kings,who frees His servant David from the deadly sword.

DARBY: Who givest salvation unto kings; who rescuest David thy servant from the hurtful sword.

DRA: teach me to do thy will, for thou art my God. Thy good spirit shall lead me into the right land:

Psalms 144:11

AMP: Set me free and rescue me from the hand of [hostile] foreigners,Whose mouth speaks deceit [without restraint],And whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

ASV: Rescue me, and deliver me out of the hand of aliens, Whose mouth speaketh deceit, And whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

Psalms 144:12

AMP: ¶Let our sons in their youth be like plants full grown,And our daughters like corner pillars fashioned for a palace;

ASV: When our sons shall be as plants grown up in their youth, And our daughters as corner-stones hewn after the fashion of a palace;

BSB: Then our sons will be like plantsnurtured in their youth,our daughters like corner pillarscarved to adorn a palace.

DARBY: That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; our daughters as corner-columns, sculptured after the fashion of a palace:

DRA: and in thy mercy thou wilt destroy my enemies. And thou wilt cut off all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.

Psalms 144:13

AMP: Let our barns be full, supplying every kind of produce,And our flocks bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields;

ASV: [When] our garners are full, affording all manner of store, [And] our sheep bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields;

BSB: Our storehouses will be full,supplying all manner of produce;our flocks will bring forth thousands,tens of thousands in our fields.

DARBY: Our granaries full, affording all manner of store; our sheep bringing forth thousands, ten thousands in our pastures;

KJV: That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:

Psalms 144:14

AMP: Let our cattle bearWithout mishap and without loss,And let there be no outcry in our streets!

ASV: [When] our oxen are well laden; [When there is] no breaking in, and no going forth, And no outcry in our streets:

BSB: Our oxen will bear great loads.There will be no breach in the walls,no going into captivity,and no cry of lament in our streets.

DARBY: Our kine laden [with young]; no breaking in and no going forth, and no outcry in our streets.

KJV: That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.

Psalms 144:15

AMP: How blessed and favored are the people in such circumstance;How blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored] are the people whose God is the Lord!

ASV: Happy is the people that is in such a case; [Yea], happy is the people whose God is Jehovah. Psalm 145 [A] [Psalm] [of] praise; of David.

BSB: Blessed are the people of whom this is so;blessed are the people whose God is the LORD.
