Psalms 35:1

AMP: Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me;Fight against those who fight against me.

ASV: Strive thou, O Jehovah, with them that strive with me: Fight thou against them that fight against me.

Psalms 35:2

Psalms 35:3

AMP: Draw also the spear and javelin to meet those who pursue me.Say to my soul, “I am your salvation.”

Psalms 35:4

AMP: Let those be ashamed and dishonored who seek my life;Let those be turned back [in defeat] and humiliated who plot evil against me.

ASV: Let them be put to shame and brought to dishonor that seek after my soul: Let them be turned back and confounded that devise my hurt.

BSB: May those who seek my lifebe disgraced and put to shame;may those who plan to harm mebe driven back and confounded.

Psalms 35:5

AMP: Let them be [blown away] like chaff before the wind [worthless, without substance],With the angel of the Lord driving them on.

Psalms 35:7

AMP: For without cause they hid their net for me;Without cause they dug a pit [of destruction] for my life.

Psalms 35:8

AMP: Let destruction come upon my enemy by surprise;Let the net he hid for me catch him;Into that very destruction let him fall.

AMP: ¶Then my soul shall rejoice in the Lord;It shall rejoice in His salvation.

ASV: All my bones shall say, Jehovah, who is like unto thee, Who deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, Yea, the poor and the needy from him that robbeth him?

BSB: All my bones will exclaim,“Who is like You, O LORD,who delivers the afflicted from the aggressor,the poor and needy from the robber?”

DARBY: All my bones shall say, Jehovah, who is like unto thee, who deliverest the afflicted from one stronger than he, yea, the afflicted and the needy from him that spoileth him!

Psalms 35:11

AMP: Malicious witnesses rise up;They ask me of things that I do not know.

ASV: Unrighteous witnesses rise up; They ask me of things that I know not.

BSB: Hostile witnesses come forward;they make charges I know nothing about.

DARBY: Unrighteous witnesses rise up; they lay to my charge things which I know not.

Psalms 35:12

AMP: They repay me evil for good,To the sorrow of my soul.
