Psalms 41:1

ASV: Blessed is he that considereth the poor: Jehovah will deliver him in the day of evil.

DARBY: {To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} Blessed is he that understandeth the poor: Jehovah will deliver him in the day of evil.

DRA: Unto the end, a psalm for David himself.

KJV: Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.

Psalms 41:2

ASV: Jehovah will preserve him, and keep him alive, And he shall be blessed upon the earth; And deliver not thou him unto the will of his enemies.

DARBY: Jehovah will preserve him, and keep him alive; he shall be made happy in the land; and thou wilt not deliver him to the will of his enemies.

DRA: Blessed is he that understandeth concerning the needy and the poor : the Lord will deliver him in the evil day.

Psalms 41:3

ASV: Jehovah will support him upon the couch of languishing: Thou makest all his bed in his sickness.

DARBY: Jehovah will sustain him upon the bed of languishing: thou turnest all his bed in his sickness.

DRA: The Lord preserve him and give him life, and make him blessed upon the earth : and deliver him not up to the will of his enemies.

KJV: The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.

Psalms 41:4

ASV: I said, O Jehovah, have mercy upon me: Heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.

DARBY: As for me, I said, Jehovah, be gracious unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.

DRA: The Lord help him on his bed of sorrow : thou hast turned all his couch in his sickness.

KJV: I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.

Psalms 41:5

ASV: Mine enemies speak evil against me, [saying], When will he die, and his name perish?

DARBY: Mine enemies wish me evil: When will he die, and his name perish?

DRA: I said: O Lord, be thou merciful to me : heal my soul, for I have sinned against thee.

KJV: Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?

Psalms 41:6

ASV: And if he come to see [me], he speaketh falsehood; His heart gathereth iniquity to itself: When he goeth abroad, he telleth it.

DARBY: And if one come to see [me], he speaketh falsehood; his heart gathereth wickedness to itself: he goeth abroad, he telleth [it].

DRA: My enemies have spoken evils against me: when shall he die and his name perish?

KJV: And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.

Psalms 41:7

ASV: All that hate me whisper together against me; Against me do they devise my hurt.

DARBY: All that hate me whisper together against me; against me do they devise my hurt.

DRA: And if he came in to see me, he spoke vain things : his heart gathered together iniquity to itself. He went out and spoke to the same purpose.

Psalms 41:8

ASV: An evil disease, [say they], cleaveth fast unto him; And now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.

DARBY: A thing of Belial cleaveth fast unto him; and now that he is laid down, he will rise up no more.

DRA: All my enemies whispered together against me : they devised evils to me.

KJV: An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.

Psalms 41:9

ASV: Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, Who did eat of my bread, Hath lifted up his heel against me.

DARBY: Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I confided, who did eat of my bread, hath lifted up [his] heel against me.

DRA: They determined against me an unjust word : shall he that sleepeth rise again no more?

Psalms 41:10

ASV: But thou, O Jehovah, have mercy upon me, and raise me up, That I may requite them.

DARBY: But thou, Jehovah, be gracious unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.

DRA: For even the man of peace, in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, hath greatly supplanted me.

Psalms 41:11

ASV: By this I know that thou delightest in me, Because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

ASV: And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, And settest me before thy face for ever.

DRA: But thou hast upheld me by reason of my innocence : and hast established me in thy sight for ever.
