Psalms 53:1

ASV: The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity; There is none that doeth good.

DARBY: {To the chief Musician. On Mahalath: an instruction. Of David.} The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God! They have corrupted themselves, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

Psalms 53:2

ASV: God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there were any that did understand, That did seek after God.

Psalms 53:3

ASV: Every one of them is gone back; they are together become filthy; There is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Psalms 53:4

ASV: Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people [as] they eat bread, And call not upon God?

DARBY: Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, eating up my people [as] they eat bread? they call not upon God.

DRA: All have gone aside, they are become unprofitable together, there is none that doth good, no not one.

KJV: Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.

Psalms 53:5

ASV: There were they in great fear, where no fear was; For God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: Thou hast put them to shame, because of God hath rejected them.

DARBY: There were they in great fear, where no fear was; for God scattereth the bones of him that encampeth against thee. Thou hast put [them] to shame, for God hath despised them.

DRA: Shall not all the workers of iniquity know, who eat up my people as they eat bread?

Psalms 53:6

ASV: Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Then shall Jacob rejoice, [and] Israel shall be glad. Psalm 54 For the Chief Musician; on stringed instruments. Maschil of David; when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, Doth not David hide himself with us?

DARBY: Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God turneth again the captivity of his people, Jacob shall be glad, Israel shall rejoice.

DRA: They have not called upon God: there have they trembled for fear, where there was no fear. For God hath scattered the bones of them that please men: they have been confounded, because God hath despised them.

KJV: Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Psalms 53:7

DRA: Who will give out of Sion the salvation of Israel? when God shall bring back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
