Psalms 62:1

ASV: My soul waiteth in silence for God only: From him [cometh] my salvation.

DARBY: {To the chief Musician. On Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.} Upon God alone doth my soul rest peacefully; from him is my salvation.

DRA: Unto the end, for Idithun, a psalm of David.

KJV: Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.

Psalms 62:2

ASV: He only is my rock and my salvation: [He is] my high tower; I shall not be greatly moved.

DARBY: He only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be greatly moved.

DRA: Shall not my soul be subject to God? for from him is my salvation.

KJV: He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

Psalms 62:3

ASV: How long will ye set upon a man, That ye may slay [him], all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?

DARBY: How long will ye assail a man; will ye [seek], all of you, to break him down as a bowing wall or a tottering fence?

DRA: For he is my God and my saviour: he is my protector, I shall be moved no more.

KJV: How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

Psalms 62:4

ASV: They only consult to thrust him down from his dignity; They delight in lies; They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah

DARBY: They only consult to thrust [him] down from his excellency; they delight in lies; they bless with their mouth, but in their inward part they curse. Selah.

DRA: How long do you rush in upon a man? you all kill, as if you were thrusting down a leaning wall, and a tottering fence.

Psalms 62:5

ASV: My soul, wait thou in silence for God only; For my expectation is from him.

DARBY: Upon God alone, O my soul, rest peacefully; for my expectation is from him.

DRA: But they have thought to cast away my price; I ran in thirst: they blessed with their mouth, but cursed with their heart.

KJV: My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

Psalms 62:6

Psalms 62:8

ASV: Trust in him at all times, ye people; Pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah

Psalms 62:9

ASV: Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: In the balances they will go up; They are together lighter than vanity.

DARBY: Men of low degree are only vanity; men of high degree, a lie: laid in the balance, they go up together [lighter] than vanity.

DRA: Trust in him, all ye congregation of people: pour out your hearts before him. God is our helper for ever.

KJV: Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.

Psalms 62:10

ASV: Trust not in oppression, And become not vain in robbery: If riches increase, set not your heart [thereon].

DARBY: Put not confidence in oppression, and become not vain in robbery; if wealth increase, set not your heart upon it.

DRA: But vain are the sons of men, the sons of men are liars in the balances: that by vanity they may together deceive.

Psalms 62:11

ASV: God hath spoken once, Twice have I heard this, That power belongeth unto God.

DARBY: Once hath God spoken, twice have I heard this, that strength [belongeth] unto God.

DRA: Trust not in iniquity, and cover not robberies: if riches abound, set not your heart upon them.

KJV: God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

Psalms 62:12

ASV: Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth lovingkindness; For thou renderest to every man according to his work. Psalm 63 A Psalm of David when he was in the wilderness of Judah.

DARBY: And unto thee, O Lord, [belongeth] loving-kindness; for *thou* renderest to every man according to his work.

DRA: God hath spoken once, these two things have I heard, that power belongeth to God,

KJV: Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.

Psalms 62:13

DRA: and mercy to thee, O Lord; for thou wilt render to every man according to his works.
