Psalms 64:1

AMP: Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint;Guard my life from the terror of the enemy.

ASV: Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint: Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

BSB: Hear, O God, my voice of complaint;preserve my life from dread of the enemy.

Psalms 64:2

AMP: Hide me from the secret counsel and conspiracy of the ungodly,From the scheming of those who do wrong,

ASV: Hide me from the secret counsel of evil-doers, From the tumult of the workers of iniquity;

BSB: Hide me from the scheming of the wicked,from the mob of workers of iniquity,

DARBY: Hide me from the secret counsel of evil-doers, from the tumultuous crowd of the workers of iniquity,

DRA: Hear, O God, my prayer, when I make supplication to thee : deliver my soul from the fear of the enemy.

Psalms 64:3

AMP: Who have sharpened their tongues like a sword.They aim venomous words as arrows,

ASV: Who have whet their tongue like a sword, And have aimed their arrows, even bitter words,

BSB: who sharpen their tongues like swordsand aim their bitter words like arrows,

DARBY: Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword, [and] have aimed their arrow, a bitter word;

DRA: Thou hast protected me from the assembly of the malignant; from the multitude of the workers of iniquity.

KJV: Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:

Psalms 64:4

AMP: To shoot from ambush at the blameless [one];Suddenly they shoot at him, without fear.

ASV: That they may shoot in secret places at the perfect: Suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

BSB: ambushing the innocent in seclusion,shooting suddenly, without fear.

DARBY: That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

DRA: For they have whetted their tongues like a sword; they have bent their bow a bitter thing,

Psalms 64:5

AMP: They encourage themselves in [their pursuit of] an evil agenda;They talk of laying snares secretly;They say, “Who will discover us?”

ASV: They encourage themselves in an evil purpose; They commune of laying snares privily; They say, Who will see them?

BSB: They hold fast to their evil purpose;they speak of hiding their snares.“Who will see them?” they say.

DARBY: They encourage themselves in an evil matter, they concert to hide snares; they say, Who will see them?

DRA: to shoot in secret the undefiled.

KJV: They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?

Psalms 64:6

AMP: They devise acts of injustice, saying,“We are ready with a well-conceived plan.”For the inward thought and the heart of a man are deep (mysterious, unsearchable).

ASV: They search out iniquities; We have accomplished, [say they], a diligent search: And the inward thought and the heart of every one is deep.

BSB: They devise injustice and say,“We have perfected a secret plan.”For the inner man and the heart are mysterious.

DARBY: They devise iniquities: We have it ready, the plan is diligently sought out. And each one's inward [thought] and heart is deep.

DRA: They will shoot at him on a sudden, and will not fear: they are resolute in wickedness. They have talked of hiding snares; they have said: Who shall see them?

KJV: They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.

Psalms 64:7

AMP: ¶But God will shoot them with an [unexpected] arrow;Suddenly they will be wounded.

ASV: But God will shoot at them; With an arrow suddenly shall they be wounded.

BSB: But God will shoot them with arrows;suddenly they will be wounded.

DARBY: But God will shoot an arrow at them: suddenly are they wounded;

DRA: They have searched after iniquities: they have failed in their search. Man shall come to a deep heart:

KJV: But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.

Psalms 64:8

AMP: So they will be caused to stumble;Their own tongue is against them;All who gaze at them will shake the head [in scorn].

ASV: So they shall be made to stumble, their own tongue being against them: All that see them shall wag the head.

BSB: They will be made to stumble,their own tongues turned against them.All who see will shake their heads.

DARBY: By their own tongue they are made to fall over one another: all that see them shall flee away.

DRA: and God shall be exalted. The arrows of children are their wounds:

KJV: So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.

Psalms 64:9

AMP: Then all men will fear [God’s judgment];They will declare the work of God,And they will consider and wisely acknowledge what He has done.

ASV: And all men shall fear; And they shall declare the work of God, And shall wisely consider of his doing.

BSB: Then all mankind will fearand proclaim the work of God;so they will ponder what He has done.

DARBY: And all men shall fear, and shall declare God's doing; and they shall wisely consider his work.

DRA: and their tongues against them are made weak. All that saw them were troubled;

KJV: And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.

Psalms 64:10

AMP: The righteous will rejoice in the Lord and take refuge in Him;All the upright in heart will glory and offer praise.

ASV: The righteous shall be glad in Jehovah, and shall take refuge in him; And all the upright in heart shall glory. Psalm 65 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm. A song of David.

BSB: Let the righteous rejoice in the LORDand take refuge in Him;let all the upright in heart exult.

DARBY: The righteous shall rejoice in Jehovah, and trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

DRA: and every man was afraid. And they declared the works of God: and understood his doings.

KJV: The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

Psalms 64:11

DRA: The just shall rejoice in the Lord, and shall hope in him: and all the upright in heart shall be praised.
