Psalms 69:1

ASV: Save me, O God; For the waters are come in unto my soul.

DARBY: {To the chief Musician. Upon Shoshannim. [A Psalm] of David.} Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto [my] soul.

DRA: Unto the end, for them that shall be changed; for David.

Psalms 69:2

ASV: I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.

Psalms 69:3

ASV: I am weary with my crying; my throat is dried: Mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.

DRA: I stick fast in the mire of the deep: and there is no sure standing. I am come into the depth of the sea: and a tempest hath overwhelmed me.

Psalms 69:4

ASV: They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head: They that would cut me off, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: That which I took not away I have to restore.

DARBY: They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.

Psalms 69:5

ASV: O God, thou knowest my foolishness; And my sins are not hid from thee.

DARBY: Thou, O God, knowest my foolishness, and my trespasses are not hidden from thee.

DRA: They are multiplied above the hairs of my head, who hate me without cause. My enemies are grown strong who have wrongfully persecuted me: then did I pay that which I took not away.

KJV: O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee.

Psalms 69:6

ASV: Let not them that wait for thee be put to shame through me, O Lord Jehovah of hosts: Let not those that seek thee be brought to dishonor through me, O God of Israel.

DARBY: Let not them that wait on thee, Lord, Jehovah of hosts, be ashamed through me; let not those that seek thee be confounded through me, O God of Israel.

DRA: O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my offences are not hidden from thee:

Psalms 69:7

ASV: Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; Shame hath covered my face.

DARBY: Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; confusion hath covered my face.

DRA: Let not them be ashamed for me, who look for thee, O Lord, the Lord of hosts. Let them not be confounded on my account, who seek thee, O God of Israel.

ASV: I am become a stranger unto my brethren, And an alien unto my mother`s children.

Psalms 69:9

ASV: For the zeal of thy house hath eaten me up; And the reproaches of them that reproach thee are fallen upon me.

Psalms 69:11

ASV: When I made sackcloth my clothing, I became a byword unto them.

Psalms 69:13

ASV: But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O Jehovah, in an acceptable time: O God, in the abundance of thy lovingkindness, Answer me in the truth of thy salvation.

DARBY: But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, Jehovah, in an acceptable time: O God, in the abundance of thy loving-kindness answer me, according to the truth of thy salvation:

DRA: They that sat in the gate spoke against me: and they that drank wine made me their song.

KJV: But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.

Psalms 69:14

ASV: Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: Let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.

DARBY: Deliver me out of the mire, let me not sink; let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the depths of waters.

DRA: But as for me, my prayer is to thee, O Lord; for the time of thy good pleasure, O God. In the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.

Psalms 69:15

ASV: Let not the waterflood overwhelm me, Neither let the deep shallow me up; And let not the pit shut its mouth upon me.

DRA: Draw me out of the mire, that I may not stick fast: deliver me from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.

Psalms 69:16

ASV: Answer me, O Jehovah; for thy lovingkindness is good: According to the multitude of thy tender mercies turn thou unto me.

DRA: Let not the tempest of water drown me, nor the deep swallow me up: and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.

ASV: And hide not thy face from thy servant; For I am in distress; answer me speedily.

ASV: Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: Ransom me because of mine enemies.

ASV: Thou knowest my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonor: Mine adversaries are all before thee.

ASV: Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: And I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; And for comforters, but I found none.

ASV: They gave me also gall for my food; And in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

DRA: In thy sight are all they that afflict me; my heart hath expected reproach and misery. And I looked for one that would grieve together with me, but there was none: and for one that would comfort me, and I found none.

ASV: Let their table before them become a snare; And when they are in peace, [let it become] a trap.

ASV: Add iniquity unto their iniquity; And let them not come into thy righteousness.

Psalms 69:31

ASV: And it will please Jehovah better than an ox, [Or] a bullock that hath horns and hoofs.

Psalms 69:32

ASV: The meek have seen it, and are glad: Ye that seek after God, let your heart live.
