Psalms 89:1

ASV: I will sing of the lovingkindness of Jehovah for ever: With my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.

DARBY: {An instruction. Of Ethan the Ezrahite.} I will sing of the loving-kindness of Jehovah for ever; with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness from generation to generation.

Psalms 89:2

ASV: For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever; Thy faithfulness wilt thou establish in the very heavens.

DARBY: For I said, Loving-kindness shall be built up for ever; in the very heavens wilt thou establish thy faithfulness.

DRA: The mercies of the Lord I will sing for ever. I will shew forth thy truth with my mouth to generation and generation.

Psalms 89:5

ASV: And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O Jehovah; Thy faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.

DARBY: And the heavens shall celebrate thy wonders, O Jehovah, and thy faithfulness in the congregation of the saints.

DRA: Thy seed will I settle for ever. And I will build up thy throne unto generation and generation.

Psalms 89:6

ASV: For who in the skies can be compared unto Jehovah? Who among the sons of the mighty is like unto Jehovah,

DARBY: For who in the heaven can be compared to Jehovah? [who] among the sons of the mighty shall be likened to Jehovah?

DRA: The heavens shall confess thy wonders, O Lord: and thy truth in the church of the saints.

KJV: For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?

Psalms 89:7

ASV: A God very terrible in the council of the holy ones, And to be feared above all them that are round about him?

DARBY: God is greatly to be feared in the council of the saints, and terrible for all that are round about him.

DRA: For who in the clouds can be compared to the Lord: or who among the sons of God shall be like to God?

KJV: God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.

Psalms 89:8

ASV: O Jehovah God of hosts, Who is a mighty one, like unto thee, O Jehovah? And thy faithfulness is round about thee.

DARBY: Jehovah, God of hosts, who is like unto thee, the strong Jah? And thy faithfulness is round about thee.

DRA: God, who is glorified in the assembly of the saints: great and terrible above all them that are about him.

KJV: O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?

Psalms 89:9

ASV: Thou rulest the pride of the sea: When the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.

DRA: O Lord God of hosts, who is like to thee? thou art mighty, O Lord, and thy truth is round about thee.

Psalms 89:10

ASV: Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; Thou hast scattered thine enemies with the arm of thy strength.

DRA: Thou rulest the power of the sea: and appeasest the motion of the waves thereof.

ASV: The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: The world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.

DRA: Thou hast humbled the proud one, as one that is slain: with the arm of thy strength thou hast scattered thy enemies.

ASV: The north and the south, thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon rejoice in thy name.

Psalms 89:13

ASV: Thou hast a mighty arm; Strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.

Psalms 89:14

ASV: Righteousness and justice are the foundation of thy throne: Lovingkindness and truth go before thy face.

DRA: thy arm is with might. Let thy hand be strengthened, and thy right hand exalted:

Psalms 89:15

ASV: Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: They walk, O Jehovah, in the light of thy countenance.

DRA: justice and judgment are the preparation of thy throne. Mercy and truth shall go before thy face:

Psalms 89:16

ASV: In thy name do they rejoice all the day; And in thy righteousness are they exalted.

ASV: For thou art the glory of their strength; And in thy favor our horn shall be exalted.

ASV: With whom my hand shall be established; Mine arm also shall strengthen him.

ASV: The enemy shall not exact from him, Nor the son of wickedness afflict him.

ASV: And I will beat down his adversaries before him, And smite them that hate him.

Psalms 89:24

ASV: But my faithfulness and my lovingkindness shall be with him; And in my name shall his horn be exalted.

Psalms 89:33

ASV: But my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, Nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.

ASV: Oh remember how short my time is: For what vanity hast thou created all the children of men!

ASV: What man is he that shall live and not see death, That shall deliver his soul from the power of Sheol? Selah

Psalms 89:49

ASV: Lord, where are thy former lovingkindnesses, Which thou swarest unto David in thy faithfulness?

DRA: Who is the man that shall live, and not see death: that shall deliver his soul from the hand of hell?

Psalms 89:50

ASV: Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; How I do bear in my bosom [the reproach of] all the mighty peoples,

DRA: Lord, where are thy ancient mercies, according to what thou didst swear to David in thy truth?

ASV: Wherewith thine enemies have reproached, O Jehovah, Wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.

DRA: Be mindful, O Lord, of the reproach of thy servants (which I have held in my bosom) of many nations:

Psalms 89:52
