Psalms 9:1

ASV: I will give thanks unto Jehovah with my whole heart; I will show forth all thy marvellous works.

DARBY: {To the chief Musician. Upon Muthlabben. A Psalm of David.} I will praise Jehovah with my whole heart; I will recount all thy marvellous works.

Psalms 9:2

ASV: I will be glad and exult in thee; I will sing praise to thy name, O thou Most High.

Psalms 9:3

ASV: When mine enemies turn back, They stumble and perish at thy presence.

Psalms 9:4

ASV: For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; Thou sittest in the throne judging righteously.

Psalms 9:5

ASV: Thou hast rebuked the nations, thou hast destroyed the wicked; Thou hast blotted out their name for ever and ever.

DRA: For thou hast maintained my judgment and my cause: thou hast sat on the throne, who judgest justice.

Psalms 9:6

ASV: The enemy are come to an end, they are desolate for ever; And the cities which thou hast overthrown, The very remembrance of them is perished.

DARBY: O enemy! destructions are ended for ever. Thou hast also destroyed cities, even the remembrance of them hath perished.

DRA: Thou hast rebuked the Gentiles, and the wicked one hath perished: thou hast blotted out their name for ever and ever.

KJV: O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.

Psalms 9:7

ASV: But Jehovah sitteth [as king] for ever: He hath prepared his throne for judgment;

DARBY: But Jehovah sitteth for ever; he hath ordained his throne for judgment.

DRA: The swords of the enemy have failed unto the end: and their cities thou hast destroyed. Their memory hath perished with a noise.

KJV: But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.

Psalms 9:8

ASV: And he will judge the world in righteousness, He will minister judgment to the peoples in uprightness.

DARBY: And it is he that will judge the world with righteousness; he shall execute judgment upon the peoples with equity.

Psalms 9:9

ASV: Jehovah also will be a high tower for the oppressed, A high tower in times of trouble;

Psalms 9:10

ASV: And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee; For thou, Jehovah, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

DARBY: And they that know thy name will confide in thee; for thou, Jehovah, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

DRA: And the Lord is become a refuge for the poor: a helper in due time in tribulation.

Psalms 9:11

ASV: Sing praises to Jehovah, who dwelleth in Zion: Declare among the people his doings.

DRA: And let them trust in thee who know thy name: for thou hast not forsaken them that seek thee, O Lord.

Psalms 9:12

ASV: For he that maketh inquisition for blood remembereth them; He forgetteth not the cry of the poor.

DARBY: For when he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them; the cry of the afflicted ones hath he not forgotten.

DRA: Sing ye to the Lord, who dwelleth in Sion: declare his ways among the Gentiles:

Psalms 9:13

ASV: Have mercy upon me, O Jehovah; Behold my affliction [which I suffer] of them that hate me, Thou that liftest me up from the gates of death;

DARBY: Be gracious unto me, O Jehovah; consider mine affliction from them that hate me, lifting me up from the gates of death:

DRA: For requiring their blood he hath remembered the: he hath not forgotten the cry of the poor.

Psalms 9:14

ASV: That I may show forth all thy praise. In the gates of the daughter of Zion I will rejoice in thy salvation.

DARBY: That I may declare all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion. I will be joyful in thy salvation.

DRA: Have mercy on me, O Lord: see my humiliation which I suffer from my enemies.

Psalms 9:15

ASV: The nations are sunk down in the pit that they made: In the net which they hid is their own foot taken.

ASV: Jehovah hath made himself known, he hath executed judgment: The wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah

DRA: I will rejoice in thy salvation: the Gentiles have stuck fast in the destruction which they have prepared. Their foot hath been taken in the very snare which they hid.

Psalms 9:17

ASV: The wicked shall be turned back unto Sheol, Even all the nations that forget God.

DRA: The Lord shall be known when he executeth judgments: the sinner hath been caught in the works of his own hands.

ASV: For the needy shall not alway be forgotten, Nor the expectation of the poor perish for ever.
